Meet BluePoint Connections

BluePoint is an online platform that connects companies with students in a long term, per-diem way. Students complete small or large projects for companies, and companies have to opportunity to continue working with these students long term.

BluePoint was founded at Launch Weekend, a business competition at Millikin University in the Fall of 2017.

At Launch Weekend, BluePoint placed first and took home more than half of the seed funding. That’s when we began to think we were on to something.

BluePoint is an online platform that connects companies with students in a long term, per-diem way. Students complete small or large projects for companies, and companies have to opportunity to continue working with these students long term. This helps students gain experience, form professional relationships, and earn money, and it helps companies complete backlogged projects, expedite the employee onboarding process, and save money by hiring students instead of full-time employees.

“Our platform gives companies and students the capability to solve each other’s problems.”

BluePoint is made up of three Millikin students and one Millikin alum. Bryce Kapitzky is a cofounder of BluePoint and is a senior majoring in Business Management. Laura Nearing is also a Cofounder of BluePoint and is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish and Chemistry. Kimberly Tejada is a senior Digital Media Marketing major and is BluePoint’s marketing director. Jesse Sargeant is a recent Millikin alum with a degree in Entrepreneurship and he serves as BluePoint’s advisor and strategist.

Being students, we understand the difficult application and long waiting process that it takes to get a job. Being on a team for a startup company, we also understand the difficulty in finding quick and affordable help with work. This helps us tailor our platform to make it the best experience it can be for both students and companies.

Our future goals include transitioning to a new website that is more automated to make it a better user experience for students and companies.

We’re trying to foster strong relationships between companies and students, whether they be local or national. By fostering these relationships, we are also trying to create an efficient and expedited application process for students and hiring process for companies.

By developing a more automated website, we can fulfill these goals.

Bryce Kapitzky
